My Soul
Since I can remember, I have been a creative soul. At the age of 5, I covered every wall in my mother’s house with my doodles — I essentially transformed the entire apartment into my canvas. When I was 10, I was accepted into a drawing course meant for experienced adults, and just a year later, I won the award for the best artwork in an exhibition that was exclusively for those seasoned adults. During that time, I was immersed in my creative pursuits, drawing and selling my own comic books to my classmates at school. However, it was at a party that my life took an unexpected turn. As I danced to the music, captivated by the energy, my attention was drawn to the DJ who was playing “Ace of Base”, and I became enchanted by the art of disc jockeying.

Since then, I have been in the music industry for 28 years. I started at the age of 12 in 1995, playing as a DJ at playground parties. At 13, I began creating remixes to play at these events, and by 14, my music was being played on local radio stations in Rio de Janeiro. By the time I turned 16, my music had made its mark on Brazil with the album “Moonight 2” (1999), and I bought my first car with the money I earned from that song.
From there, I experienced ups and downs. I worked with renowned names like DJ Marlboro, remixed songs for Mariah Carey, and made a significant amount of money in the early 2000s. However, with the advent of MP3s, Napster, and the trend of anyone becoming a DJ, I had to adapt. I transitioned into the business side of the music industry, opening a DJ agency and bringing international artists to perform in Brazil. This allowed me to reemerge in the new market of major clubs that hired electronic music stars. It was during this time that I started playing at the parties where I booked DJs, and I refocused on music production, giving birth to the project known as Bruce Leroys.

Working alongside my current partner, Marcelo Abreu, these have undoubtedly been the best years of my life. With our first song produced in 2013, we reached the Top 15 in sales on Beatport, and renowned artists like Alok approached us to remix our music. Since then, we have signed with major record labels worldwide, such as Armada, Get Physical, Kittball, and many other giants. We’ve had the honor of being remixed by Ricardo Villalobos, Art Of Tones, Ninetoes, and other influential players in the electronic music market.
Today, I have the pleasure of having a release signed with the major label Universal Music, I have remixed icons of Brazilian music like Gal Costa and Azymuth, and I have performed at the biggest clubs and festivals in Brazil, including Rock in Rio (twice), Warung, D-Edge, and various other venues. I feel that I have accomplished many milestones in my professional life, realizing some of my dreams. Now, I am in a constant search to further refine my artistry and talents, so that I can continue pursuing even greater objectives. This is where Dithavic comes in.
Di (Diogo) + Tha (Thamara) + Vic (Vicente) = Dithavic
When my son Vicente came into the world, everything changed. It gave me a whole new perspective on life and a sense of urgency. I used to focus only on my professional dreams, but now I have personal aspirations too. My family, especially my wife Thamara and Vicente, inspire me with ideas I never had before. For instance, I started wondering why I stopped drawing and why I couldn’t use my talents for bigger purposes.
Today, I don’t just want to make music for the sake of it; I want to make the world better, more authentic, and original. I want Vicente to grow up listening to great music at parties and seeing more art galleries and innovative designs on the streets. This has created a strong desire in me to make a real difference in the world. Besides making music, I believe I can contribute by helping the next generation create not only better music but also more meaningful art. I want to show that visual and sound arts can be experimental and break the rules. That’s why Dithavic is here—to help you become a more relevant and influential artist in this world.
